Some sort of plague!

Well, within an hour of updating my blog Thurs night, I came down with what felt like the plague. I can't remember the last time I was so sick. I knew it was either food poisoning or stomach flu. Rumor had it that this illness was gradually making its way (literally) through people at work. In either event, I couldn't keep solid food down until late Saturday. As you may have guessed that depleted my body of any sort of energy stores and I had to restructure my weekend.

Having a fever so bad your legs hurt makes you wonder if you will ever feel better again! My diet consisted of pedialye, ginger ale and eventually white toast until Sat PM. If I had thought I needed to lose a pound or two, this ilness certainly took care of it (but not in the right way of course)...

In any event, no racing or real riding could occur this weekend due to illness! Sunday I did a light ride and finally felt my energy coming back to me. It's amazing what food can do for your body! I am looking forward to kicking off what I will dub The Final 6 Weeks (until Sea Otter!) tomorrow.

I had to live vicariously through Teri and Joy who had a great time at Fontucky Short Track on Sat. We had no representatives at Ontario Crit either. Everyone went about their regularly scheduled training (or rehabilitation!) instead.

I had the same thing about two weeks ago...thought I was gonna die. Desi had it two days later, and filled her cupholders with "gunnite" on the drive home from work. It took me out for two days!
